This technique was already well known in the glassworks of Murano by the 1930s

It consists of modeling the vitreous mass, supported with an non- perforated barrel, using the same tools used in the process of glass blowing, the object takes shape from the Glassmaster’s hands with skilful and targeted strokes.

Artists of the caliber of Miro, Chagall and Picasso were so impressed by this process that they asked the Glassmasters of Murano to create their artwork in glass using this process.
